In this world you shall have tribulation. But be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33).
The light came in this world and darkness comprehended it not. Do you not know that destruction will come at the hand of the devil? This is his nature. But the LORD, who is our God, is light eternal. Rest you hearts upon this truth; for it is this light that shineth in you. In him was life; and the life was the light of men (John 1:4).
The righteous do not plot to destroy the lives of human beings. The righteous do not rejoice in doing evil. Today I come before you to remind you of the relentless working of the devil. I come to remind you of the working of principalities in high places. I come to remind you that the LORD is our God. We are the children of hope and our destiny is one of everlasting prosperity. I tell you the truth: the LORD is with me; he is my God. We are the glory of the LORD. Even everyone that is called by his name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him (Isaiah 43:7). We are the apple of his eyes. Wait and you shall see the salvation of God. Our God is not lazy to defend us, nor will he hide himself in times of trouble. The LORD is our God. From everlasting unto everlasting, he is our redeemer, our blessed Savior. Our hope is with the LORD. Our trust is in God. O LORD God, to whom we bestowed glory upon glory, glory without end: Keep us as the apple of the eye, hide us under the shadow of thy wings, from the wicked that oppress us, from our deadly enemies, who compass us about (Psalm 17:8 & 9).
We are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid (Matthew 5:14). We cannot be hidden, nor can we be extinguished. Let us not be weary in doing good, and serving our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. The day is at hand when evil will wax worst and worst. Wicked men would believe that they are doing good by doing evil. Today we see that wicked men are playing God. They believe that they have the power to destroy human beings at will. They believe that they can say who live and who die. Well I am a man of God, and I tell you that power and glory belong to God. Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all (1 Chronicles 29:11). All of it is his. And because the LORD is our God, we shall be relentless in all our ways. We will not look down like fools without knowledge. But we will look up to the glory of God. We will rise up in Christ, in his wisdom, and knowledge. Truth shall be our weapon of choice. We will put on the full armour of God. We will seek our God day and night. We will keep watch. Our light shall not faint; for our oil shall burn continuously. We shall prepare for the wedding ceremony. Yea, for the joy of the LORD is with us. We are covenant keepers of the living God. The God of Israel is our God. I tell you the truth. The God of Israel, the Holy One, is our God. We shall not fear what man can do to us. But we shall fear God, who can destroy both body and soul in hell. We shall endure in the Spirit of truth. We shall endure in the Spirit of liberty. We shall endure in Christ’s righteousness. Before our God there was none. You are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me (Isaiah 43:10). This is the word of our living God. This is the word of my God. Stand with the LORD; for him and only him is God. Who can say these things but Almighty God? I tell you, where my God is there shall I be. My confidence is in him. There is none that liveth but the LORD our God. We are not children without hope. We are the elect of this God. In our Father’s kingdom we shall rejoice. In his kingdom there shall be no evil. The wicked shall cease. There shall be no war. The glory of God shall abound in this truth. The glory of God shall dwell in hope. The hope of righteousness shall indeed prosper. Zion shall rejoice because the LORD is our God. Some may trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God (Psalm 20:7). We see today that some put their trust in other men, even wicked men, and depart from the way of the LORD. But we put our trust in the LORD our God. We put our trust in this faithful God who have not forsaken us, nor will he forsake us. We put our trust in the God of our salvation. He is our Saviour. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour (Isaiah 43:11). We know the LORD. He and the Father abodes with us. The world knoweth not this God. But we know him. The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth dwells in us. Once we were dead. But now in Christ we live. Who can destroy the work of the living God? Will men rise up against God and yet shall they prosper? They shall not. They shall be destroyed and sunken into the depths of hell. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish (Psalm 1:6). Believe the word of the living God. Believe this truth that will not wither and die. For the word of God shall live forever. We shall judge the wicked; for the LORD is our God. This honor has all the saints: Praise ye the LORD (Psalm 149:9).
Be still, and trust in the LORD. The heathen raged; the kingdom were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen. I will be exalted in the earth (Psalm 46:6, 7 & 10). Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prosper in his ways, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. For evil doers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth (Psalm 37:7 & 9).
