THEY DID NOT ENTER INTO HIS REST BECAUSE OF UNBELIEF by Michael

For he that is entered into his rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief (Hebrews 4:10 – 11).

If anyone believes God, he should also believe Christ the Son who is in the Father. They are one. The message of Christ is the message of the Father. We who are Christ’s will find rest because we believe. This is a promise of my God. This is a promise of everlasting hope and glory. This rest will not cease. It is everlasting unto everlasting. This is the way of Almighty God. Now when we labour, we labour not in vain as many who have tasted the glory of God and now trample on it; for the Gospel, the good news which we hear and labour because of it is knowing that this God Almighty will avail us much. We honor Christ and God the Father when we believe that Christ is our salvation. And the truth which God has given us dwells in us. Our heart is the dwelling place of that glory. Our soul knows fully well and rejoice in that glory. My God will have glory in his elect. For unto us, we did not look upon God as a liar as those who have heard and now fallen away to the errors of the world. But we give thanks to him for the hopeful glory in his Son who have taken our burdens away because we believe. The blood on the Cross avails us much. The word of God we have heard and kept it. The Holy Spirit can testify to this truth. For it is him who dwells in us, sealed for eternity. My LORD my God, unto you I give glory without measure. Our gratitude shall be hopeful and without end. This truth I will lay on your hearts. This God that saves also gives rest. Who can take away that rest, that hopeful glory? As it is written: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our LORD (Romans 8:38 – 39).

As new creatures in Christ we have come into the glorious image of God; we prosper in his glory which is hopeful unto his rest, joyful, unto everlasting. The love of God avails much. His mercy endureth forever. His grace was and is sufficient unto us in that we did not turn it away, nor trample on it. But we have embraced the favor of God, being thankful for our Father and our LORD Jesus Christ. Having said to Moses that he will shew mercy to whom he pleases (Exodus 33:19). And we did not disregard his mercy but have accepted it that we may have rest. Our God rejoices in this obedience. The sons and daughters of God shall bring joy to the heart of God.

The word of God is truth, unto everlasting. If you have truly found rest, God shall be with you. If the Holy Spirit does not dwell in you then God is not with you, and how can you be at rest? How can you find rest if Christ is not your LORD and Savior? How can you say, thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven? Who shall dine with God, or who shall inherit the kingdom of God? Is it not those who believe God and have found rest? It is God’s hope that none should perish (2 Timothy 2:4) and come into his rest. It is his hope that all shall come to his knowledge of truth (2 Timothy 2:4). For it is by hearing the word that we believe. In that we now feast in this glorious salvation of Christ. It is by his hope that God is with us. It is by his hope that we find rest. It is only because we believe God that salvation is by his Son Jesus Christ that we find rest. Glory in this truth and praise God Almighty for his merciful grace. Praise him without ceasing for he has given you and I rest.
