LIVING TO PLEASE GOD AND NOT MAN: Mikey St. John

For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet please men, I should not be the servant of God. Galatians 1:10

Men in their own wisdom can become foolish in the sight of God. Everyone of us has a purpose on this earth. Some of us are too busy worrying about what others are doing, instead of what we should be doing with our lives. We should never question what someone else’s purpose is because we are not God. But what we should do instead is render guidance should we see someone living a life of errors. But even then, we should not be hostile towards that person should we believe that person will not conform to our wisdom and understanding. In actuality, that person should only conform to God [the Holy Spirit], and the Word of God, who lives in us and us in him.

At the end of the day, we should take our clues from God. I know I do. And that’s exactly what I try to implement in my life. We are not perfect, by any means. But we should not lay down and die, without trying to become the best we can through Christ, as we prepare ourselves to be deemed worthy, acceptable in the sight of God.

Wise men fear God, and keep his commandments. And we should do the same. Our sole purpose is to obey the laws of God, and praise and glorify his holy name. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing whether it is good or evil (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).

But despite that, some will ignore the Word, and disobey God, for nonsensical reasons, anyway. The thing to remember here is, people will do whatever they choose to do. But when it is all said and done, we all have to answer to God alone, not with Jane, Mary, or Joe. So while others may mean well or even have their own agenda, we also have ours. And that is to live our purpose, to do what we are instructed to do by God. Because it is God who has the key to the gates of heaven and not men. We, the believers in Christ, must carry on the work that Christ has bestowed upon us, as sons of the living God. We live not for ourselves but for Christ, who died and resurrected for our sins (2 Corinthians 5:15).

And those who live without hope, fear not; for the God of hope is knocking at your door. He is the forever merciful and loving God. This God that I love and serve will welcome you with loving, open arms. Come to him as you’re in sin, and seek his redemption. And oblige to the teachings of our heavenly Father who awaits us in heaven. Because he has done the same thing for me, by the abundance of his merciful grace. That even in death our God will rejoice in us.
