DELIGHT THYSELF IN THE LORD by Michael

Delight thyself in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart (Psalms 37:4).

The word of God is truth and that will not change. It brings comfort and reassurance to those who believe. Those who believe faithfully on the word of God shall prosper. Those who serve this God in spirit and in truth shall prosper. The word of God is a beacon of light to those who love the LORD. The heart of a man reveals his truth. The conceited things, the wickedness, the wrath of evil is embedded in it. And although he may say one thing, a deceitful tongue reveals no truth of God. The Bible says, the heart of a man is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it (Jeremiah 17:9). And God will not be mocked by anyone. Be not deceived; God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man soweth, that he also reap (Galatians 6:7). I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doing (Jeremiah 17:10). If you dishonor God in your heart he will not honor you when you call upon his name. God will not answer the prayers of a wicked man. Do not pray with the wicked. But pray for the wicked that they may come into the fear and wisdom of God. The efforts of the wicked avails nothing. But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covernant in thy mouth (Psalms 50:16). And again David says, If I regard iniquity in my heart, the LORD will not hear me: But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer (Psalms 66:18 – 19). God will not honor disobedience, brutality, sexual immoral behavior, arrogance, pride, or any corrupt behavior as a matter of fact. The pride of life gets in the way of God. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the pride in possession is not from the Father but is from the world (1 John 2 :16). He hates the prideful. But meekness is a quality he loves. Show me a humble man before God and I will show you a man of honor. God is not a difficult God as many make him out to be. If your desires are not in line with God’s, why should he honor you? Why do you stand before God with selfish ambitions? Why will you stand before God when all the desires of your heart are for pleasures? You ask and receive not because you ask amiss (wrongfully; not in accordance with God), that you may consume it upon your lust (James 4:3).

Selfishness is not a virtue of God. Depart from it. Depart from this evil that is dragging your souls into the depths of hell. A sincere heart, pure in all its glory, and full of love is a joy unto the LORD. My God will have glory in what is good. He will have glory in the saints and not the sinners. Sincere repentance before God is worthy of the righteousness in Christ. The Bible tells us that all our righteousness are as filthy rags. But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, as the wind, have taken us away (Isaiah 64:6). And now this from our LORD: For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:20). Serve God and not yourselves. What you say means nothing if your hearts are deceitful and corrupt. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all things will be given unto you (Matthew 6:33). There is nothing mentioned here about self-righteousness but the righteousness of God. A man of vanity glory in nothing. And this vanity will fall to the ground before the face of God. The depths of hell is a place of vanity. All the vain glory it beholds. When you come to God come correct, without the guile and bitterness and the corruption in thine hearts with the intent on pleasures. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting (Psalms 139:23 – 24). We deceive ourselves in wickedness not God. (This is a painful reality that many have not learn, and many will not learn until it is too late). If what you ask is in line with the desires of God he will honor it. God is not a liar. He is a faithful God. Get to know him. Ask him to search your hearts and remove all the guile and bitterness and the deceitfulness in those deep seated crevices in your hearts. Let him root them out, lest you be hopeless, without faith, awaiting disappointment. Delight thyself in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart (Psalms 37:4). Honor this truth and the LORD shall honor you.
