OUR DAYS ARE ORDAINED AND OUR PURPOSE IS LAID OUT BEFORE GOD: by Michael

My friends scorn me: but my eyes poureth out tears unto God (Job 16:14).

Do all men live and mourn this misery upon this earth which God giveth? Do men rejoice always and there is no sorrow? All our tears are fallen unto the dust; our heads are bowed down. Lest the LORD dry our tears and lift up our heads, shall we rejoice? What is this that man call life without struggles and agonies and pain? Lest a man be dead he shall face troubles. Who can run from it? Who is defiant against the essence of life on this earth? Let God be the judge of all things. In his strength do we lay in the billows or cleave to the rock or rise up in joy and give praise and honour to this God. The hope of righteousness is the LORD. Day and night we tarry; for our days upon this land is vain: it shall wither away. What is this: man rejoices and know not what his end shall be? O the wisdom of fools shall not rise up in joy. But sorrows shall behold he that know not God. If mercy will come, let it come quickly. Let it come and behold the glory of God. Let it bring forth righteousness. Let it sing the praise of the LORD. O God of wisdom and truth, behold, let thy hand save, lest our days dwell without hope and our rising shall be in vain. Let the dust not cleave to our skin and let shame depart from us. O LORD, behold, thou art more powerful than us, even thy right hand. Who can prevail against the strength of the LORD? All our days are in thy hand, even thy right hand which we beseech; for our souls are at thy mercy. Let humility take hold of us, that in thy eyes we may find favour. O LORD, thou have freed the oppressed and declared righteousness where there was none. The whole earth is out of course, yet thou art the power and glory of all the earth. Who is like unto thee, O LORD? My soul cleave to thee. I look to thee for wisdom. Behold, thou art my source: my confidence is enlarged in thy hand. Let our days prosper in thy hand. O LORD, shew mercy and forgive us of our sins.
