Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein (Jeremiah 6:16).
Disobedience against God stands in the way of man’s progress and prosperity. The Adam man, the flesh man, will oppose the Spirit man. And this can put us in a place of hindrance with God. Until we come to the realization that God’s way is best, we will continue to be in a place of retrogression… God give us choices. If we choose his way, there will be rejoicing. If we choose the enemy’s way there will be sorrors. Disappointment will follow. We will not find rest for our souls. Yet, they will not walk in the way of God. But, instead, they follow the way of man. They follow destruction. Their eyes are closed and who shall open it? Who shall lead the blind to the way of truth, lest they see? Who shall bring forth the hope of God when they have tossed it up in miseries and lies? Who shall honor God and bring his people out of darkness? The truth shall not grow old. But men who weary the hand of God with lies shall grow old. They shall go down in the pit. Destruction shall beseech them. Bring forth the word of God. Tell his people his truth. Hearken to the voice of the LORD my God. Hearken to this faithful God. Faithful is he since the beginning of time. Faithful is he to the end.
They will not listen to this God of hope. They will not listen to God who desires goodness for their souls. All their bowels have burst into miseries and who shall eat their spoils? They stumble; their ways are crocked; destruction is before them, yet they will not listen. Truth has come and mount up in glory and they desire to pull it down. Will God not have his way? Who will not cease from corruption, yet rejoice before God? O Father, let thy way prosper before thy people. Let thy hope rise up with glory. Thy truth shall stand tall like mountains and thy glory shall not be made ashamed. The LORD God Almighty shall rejoice by his works. The hand of God shall prosper. It shall prosper in all its ways.
