Silence is more deafening for many of us and seldom appreciated. We are more obliged to welcome distractions, in a flash, without even give them any thought. But we are scared of quiet times, afraid of what we might hear in our heads, and the great things we might discover: limitless depth, and mysteries that can make this world stand still. Instead, we are destined to make noise, unwilling to give serenity a chance; not even one second we will allow. Every vile distraction removes the responsibility of knowing and the possibilities of what could be. After all, that seems more comforting, at least for now. (Mikey St. John)
