The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth forever (Psalms 111:10).
Two things God asked you to do and you take not pleasure in them. Must he come with a wip? Or must he strike you with the rod? Behold, the wicked shall be judged. And all the wicked shall be destroyed from the earth. Where is the wisdom of the fool that rise up against God? Where is he that run after vanity, and consider not the ways of the LORD? The whole earth is full of the glory of God, yet they will not honour him. They will not give glory to whom glory is due. The wicked abides in his own strength, so he thinks. But who is God, who sustains all the heavens and the earth? Is he not the Almighty that giveth life, and shall take it away? Is he not our hope upon the holy hill, upon the high hill of Zion? The LORD is a refuge for the poor, and for them that seek his mercy. O let wisdom take hold of thee, I pray, that God may consider thee. Be not stubborn as a horse or a mule which has no understanding. Humble yourselves before the LORD. The LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all therein. Will he not find pleasure in the works of his own hand? Give glory to God in the highest; for his mercy endureth forever. Give glory to God in the highest; for his goodness is in all the earth. Sing the praise of the LORD. And offer thanksgiving before him. Come rejoicing before the LORD; for it is he who sustains us. Give unto the LORD his glory due, and cease not from praising him. For the LORD is our Rock and shield, a present help in times of trouble. Blessed be the name of the LORD.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shall love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang the law and the prophets (Matthew 22:37 – 40).
