On the eve of thanksgiving, the prelude of feasting with family and friends, reminiscing about the years gone by, being thankful for the present with a joyful reverence for life — let us be grateful for the air we breathe, for our family and friends. But more importantly, let’s be thankful to God for the grace and mercy he has bestowed upon us, and for prayers — they change things. And let our thoughts travel beyond the immediate; let us think about the poor and suffering all over the world. Let us pray for strength and courage, enough so that we may free the evil of this world, like David did when he defeated Goliath, despite his enormous magnitude.

As we take time to regroup — remember that time is of the essence. People are dying every minute as we speak. There are tremendous challenges ahead, but I’m optimistic that we can make a big difference should we lend a helping hand. Don’t ever believe that your efforts would be in vain — good will always prevail over evil. It may not seem that way now, but make no mistake — a little goes a long way. So eat, drink, and be merry, but let us never forget the battle ahead of us. Let us give to those in need, and let us exemplify our faith with our good deeds that the righteous God who dwelleth in the highest heaven shall remember us in trials and tribulations.

O mighty God, let your honour and glory be magnified in the heavens. Let the whole world rejoice in your goodness and mercy. Let us, your beloved saints remember our blessed Lord Jesus, for the rest of our lives. Amen
